Shoppers are to be given bells to attach to purses and handbags in a bid to deter thieves in Market Harborough, Leicestershire (England), in the run-up to the Christmas shopping period. Leicestershire Police hope the bells will help to alert people if their purses, wallets or handbags are moved while they are shopping. Pc Pete Starbuck said: "The bells are a warning to purse-snatchers not to come to Market Harborough. Thieves often target mothers who are pushing their children in buggies and who may have their handbags draped over the side." Via BBC news. |

Ringtonia is always a good source of amusing surprises. One of today's posts really made my day.
Cotton Candy Comb-over, aka Donald Trump, and Warner Music Group have reached a deal to launch Trump Mobile — a suite of products that includes ringtones, video ringtones and Trump wallpaper for cellphone screens. Among the phrases offered in Trump's voice are: "Why not answer your phone, you could be missing out on some really big business" and "You're getting a phone call and, believe me, it better be important. I have no time for small talk and neither do you." "When Donald Trump's voice is coming out of your cell phone, everyone around you will know you mean business," Trump said. "With Trump Mobile personalization products, people can finally get some valuable advice while their phones are ringing." Via ringtonia < The New York Post and CNN. |

Asahi Breweries will launch in Japan this winter a beer that changes taste over time as the fermentation process continues after it is bottled.
The Asahi Super Yeast Draft changes its aroma and flavor through a second phase of fermentation after its basic taste is created in the primary fermentation at factories. "After a month, its smooth taste is enhanced. In two to three months, the gorgeous aroma increases, giving the beer abundant and smooth flavor with crisp aftertaste," the company said. When I was a kid and too young to complain, my mum cooked us one of her specialities, les peches au thon: peaches fresh from the tin and "filled" with tuna + mayonnaise. It doesn't mean I'm ready to eat these sausages: In a bid to boost declining sales of fish-meat sausages, Nippon Suisan Kaisha has come up with a flavor designed specifically to attract children -- strawberry milk.
The firm has seasoned the sausages by adding strawberry juice and milk to them. The texture and flavor of the sausages are reportedly close to those of regular fish-meat sausages, with the exception that the aftertaste of strawberries remains. "It's an unexpected combination, but a taste that children will like," a Nissui official said. "Strawberries go well with minced fish." The company will sell the strawberry milk sausages in packs of five and is expecting them to be a hit, aiming for sales of 200 million yen in the first year. Via MSN-Mainichi. |
