Another Venice Biennale. A very good one. Everything that was missing at Documenta 12 is there: war, politics, sex, death and some sense of humour.

Just a quick one before i come back with more detailed stories:

Tomer Ganihar took photos in an Israeli hospital in which detailed mannequins of men, women and children maimed by war and terror are used to train doctors and medics. They embody both the memories and the prediction of violence (text from the catalog.)

Usually artists make art from the remains of human use, but here you took an artificial human and captured them artistically?

vale

do you think art should always deal with politics and in such evident way?
I found Arsenale works too much on that way, seems it's very easy to sell anti-US feel or poor soldiers pity..and also I found some work too difficult to understand without knowing the background of the artist...do you really think art should compete with newspaper and tv informing us rather then surprising? valentina
