Off to Oslo for the week
|
I don't know much about Oslo, other than it's not the best place to hang around if you're a bit skint. So far only the Viking Ship Museum is on my list of must see. Pliiiz, pliiiz, send me an email or leave a comment if you have an idea of any exhibition, shop or place i shouldn't miss while i'm there. |

I'm going to spend a few days at the
The Nobel Peace Center was a treat when I was there in 2005.
You should at least go to "Vigelands parken", the Munch museum....sorry I'm too tired to think straight but I used to live in Oslo so if there's anything particular you want to know you can just drop me a line. And yes, Norway is very expensive. If you like nature and stuff; there are great national parks around Oslo: "nordmarka", "ostmarka"... Something else: there are a lot of beggars, prostitutes and heroin addicts in Oslo just so you're warned; a lot of people that go are surprised.
the skulptur park, the arkitektur gallery (behind the national gallery)....it seems that city has alot of hidden things going on
Hi Regine, too bad I just left town...
The Gustav Vigeland sculpture park is great and should definitely be seen. If you have a chance try going to the Emanuel Vigeland Mausoleum. It's only open on Sundays, but it's strange and wonderful. Emanuel was the less famous brother, and devoted years of his life to building his own mausoleum.
If the weather is nice and you have two hours at your disposal the islands are nice to visit. Try taking the boat to the Viking Museum if you go, it's nicer than the bus.
