PS.1 in New York City is currently exhibiting a project called Emergency Room. For this one-room exhibition on the third floor, over thirty artists have been asked to create and install works which are directly reacting to events of the previous 24 hours – a rhythm that recalls the daily news cycles of printed media.

On each day, an artist will install a new work, the pieces stay on view until the next day at 12.30 when they are moved to an adjacent archive space and replaced by something fresh. Artists include Susanne Schuricht from Berlin, Peter Lind, Mike Estabrook, Raphaele Shirley and Vandana Jain. PS.1 have also put up a blog along with the project.

Through March 19th 2007.

Emergency Room, a constantly evolving collaborative exhibition conceived and led by artist Thierry Geoffroy, a.k.a. Colonel. To realize this project, Geoffroy has invited over thirty local and international artists to create and install new works in a range of media, all generated daily in response to current events. Emergency Room is on view in the third floor Archive Galleries from February 8 through March 19, 2007.

Hey I was at the Opening at Ps1 and participated in the "headband" writing. There were several pictures taken...will you be posting these somewhere!?

Great ideas :)
ciao ciao,

yes, we'd actually like to write something about what people actually did in the project but that might be a bit difficult to manage. do you know who took those pictures? i bet there's stuff on flickr too.

Reports of organizer Thierry Geoffroy mistreating and threatening invited Emergency Room artists at PS1 have come from multiple sources. In the big picture he doen't care about the artists involved.
