I'm gutted not to be able to be in Paris over the next few days: there will be Sony's "Intensive Science" exhibition, on October 6 and 7 at La Maison Rouge in Paris (Frederic Kaplan will show funky toys and gear he designed for AIBO together with the students of ECAL, Ivan Poupyrev will present Lumen and Atau Tanaka his brand new mobile musical device), the opening of the Fabrica exhibition at the Centre Pompidou and the Nuit Blanche on October 7, quite a few nice works there as well:

Alain Séchas is to show his lovely Somnambules at the Orangerie de Bercy - Jardin Yitzhak Rabin.

Los Carpinteros will be nearby. They'll move their Transportable City at the Parc de Bercy (unfortunately they haven't planned to warm the chilly night with their Hot Sofa.) The installation is made of ten tents shaped in iconic architectural forms. There's a domed capitol, a Gothic-arched church, a lighthouse, a factory, an apartment building, a hospital, a military outpost, a prison, a university, and a warehouse.

As people of all nations are subject to natural disasters and as others are forced to migrate due to the onset of war, the concept of the fully mobile community is becoming a global phenomenon. As Marco Castillo says, "When people leave their homes they think about their city, the buildings they left behind, if you carry that [with you], you don’t even have to think about it." (via)

That night, at the Mairie du IVème arrondissement, wifi-masochistes will be invited to experience Christophe Bruno's Wifi-SM bracelet.

We just had our first Nuit Blanche in Toronto on Friday, I'd hope there would be some coverage here.

Gerald

we are just having dinner, and then steping out to the nuit blanche, we are living in the goutte d'or district, where the most interesting pieces will be.

Maybe we will make some pictures, "Du soleil dans la nuit" de Laurent Grasso will be extraordinary here in this popular quater of Paris...

I have been at SONY CSL at Centre Pompidou, some bits and pieces are here:
