The Bundescast
|
As the German federal government announced today, Angela Merkel is to start her very own video-podcast. From June 8th on, interested citizens can subscribe to the chancellor's feed and will be informed about the state of the nation on a weekly basis. Like most governments, Angela Merkel's administration is probably closely observing the developments of the media-landscape, looking for new channels to reach the public. It remains to be seen whether she will use the quite frequent podcast for relatively personal addresses on current issues, or if it will be more or less the same streamlined information that is already present on her website. Neither did they give away what will it look like. In front of a map of Europe, maybe? :) Via Spiegel Online. |

maybe...
two things:
first - its an interessting news, but it seems to be wrong here?!
second - is there someone who will start a site like huhukanzlerin.de and huhukanzler.de to give a nice videocast-answer weekly to Angie? i would write some speeches.
cheers
michael
i don't see why it should be wrong. it's about the things we work on trickeling down (or should i say trickeling up) to the people in power. that's always an interesting moment - when politics pick up fresh media. blogging and podcasting, are much more personal media that a once-in-a-year speech on TV-broadcast and this rises some issues on how they are gonna make use of it.
the answer-cast is a nice idea! i was also already wondering if they would want to go the whole way and even add a comment feature?!
for the record: now we know more. she's sitting in front of an image of the reichstag, there's an unbearable intro and her email is "internetpost@bundeskanzlerin.de"! it's a step in a good direction, anyway.
