VScratch
|
For his diploma project (work in progress) at the University of art & Design Lausanne, Valerio Spoletini decided to combine two of his personal interests: scratching and vjing.
VScratch allows a visual transcription of every elements used for scratch composition. It transposes all sound nuances made by the rotation of the record: the variations of speed, audio spectrum and volume. The movies are quite impressive. Valero Spoletino will perform at Sonar on June 15. UPDATE: thanks to the readers who suggested me a similar work: Jesse Kriss' Visual Scratch is a realtime visualization of scratch DJ performance, built using Processing, Max/MSP, Ms. Pinky, and MaxLink. More night club stuff: Remote Vjs control, Sewing machine VJ, PostVinyl, Tremor tactile music sleeve, Interview of UnitedVisualArtists. |
