3D video game
|
xBlocks is a video game that you can play on a sculpture. The mixed reality installation is inspired by platform games of the late 1980s such as Super Mario Brothers or Pitfall.
Using standard game controllers, two opposing players must help their characters navigate in and around a 3D maze. The challenge comes, not from traditional game mechanics but rather from moving with your character as he sprints around corners and jumps between the installation’s two play surfaces.
UPDATE: Aram put a video of the game on you tube. Developed by Victor Szilagyi and Tristam Sparks. Check the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea and Domus Academy show if you're around Milan: it runs from April 7-10th (noon-8pm) then from 11th-21st (noon-5pm), at the Fabbrica del Vapore, Via Procaccini, 4. Photographs 1 taken by Tristam Sparks and 2 by Aram Saroyan Armstrong. |

Neat - this looks like a lot of fun, a video game is projected on to a 3D structure / sculpture and you move the little character around the surfaces. More: xBlocks - Link.See it at Salone (photoset) -... Read More
