An architecture of fashion
|
Metropolis has a story about The Fashion of Architecture: CONSTRUCTING the Architecture of Fashion, at New York's Center for Architecture. The show curated by Bradley Quinn features some of my favourite works including:
Kei Kagami's "Head Holder" (first image on the left.) The dress explores dynamic structures by means of rods and strings that cause exaggerated movement of the garment by the motion of the model. Although it's not part of the show i couldn't resist to add some images of Kagami's splendid Fall/Winter 2006-2007 collection (more images at Mainichi and bastlardy)
Special mention also for the Exaltation dress by David Adjaye and Boudicca, a sculptural interpretation of fashion and architecture. Via dezain. |
