It's funny that people still refer to Iraqi freedom fighters as terrorists.
I guess that would mean that the native amerikans that the europeans slaughtered a few centuries aog were terrorists as well?
Stuart
Funny, I was thinking how it irritates me when people refer to terrorist/murderers as freedom fighters. First off, neither of us know the context of this image, but picture aside, how would you define a 'freedom fighter' in Iraq? Fighting to be free from our cruel oppression? Didn't we free them from a murderous dictator and give them a democratic government, so they can rule themselves? Who is oppressing the Iraqi's right now? We're there right now because there are Islamic bullies trying with violence to grab the reigns of the country before it gets some legs. I understand your native amerikan example but its just not the same. We don't want the place. We're not trying to set up America 2 there. The U.S. is not against the Iraqi people. We'd love to see them be a safe, free, functioning country in that region. So who's kidnapping Iraqi's for money. Who showed up outside a mosque the other day to shoot innocent women in the head? Sorry, not us. Finally, we had to stay in Germany and Japan for a long time but now they've become pretty decent places. So if we leave now the place will be hell. But...root for the terrorists if you want. Oh yeah, and don't forget the freedom fighters that killed 3000+ innocent Americans on September 11th.
WMMNA: great site, keep up the good work. Sorry for the long late night rant.

Thanks, Stuart, you just saved me the trouble. Freedom fighters? Vomit. Tell that to the Iraqi who just lost his wife and children to one of these inhuman psychotics.
Keith
Stuart, the men who flew the planes were terrrorists. Terrorists with no link to Iraq by the way. You didn't exactly say so, but you made the connection.
The people of Iraq who see us taking their country from them and decide to resist are freedom fighters. The US is against the Iraqi people. They do not want us there. If they could vote today to have the US leave immediately there is no question how the vote would go. That is why the US will never allow such a vote.
Germany and Japan are not even close to what is going on in Iraq. The US stayed in those countries because of the war. If Iraq had decided to start a world war I would be all for their occupation
Godfrey Daniel, Liberators? Tell that to the Iraqi who just lost her husband to one of these inhuman psychotics.

A robot examines the body of a terrorist/freedom fighter human being in Bagdad, Iraq.

Ok, so the 'strike' html tag doesn't work here >_>

That's all anyone should surmise from this photo without additional info.
Oh, brother.
Keith, you do realize that the "freedom fighters" are mostly engaged in mass murder of Iraqi civilians, right?
You also need to pay attention to actual opinion polls where they ask actual Iraqis actual questions. Interesting results. Not much resemblance to your fantasies, of course. It goes like this:
A solid majority wants us there until their own army and police can maintain security. *Then* they want us to leave. That's been our policy from day one, of course.
Over 70% think that getting rid of Saddam has been worth what they've gone through.
You see, the "freedom fighters" you admire so much have seized control of a few towns here and there, and they turn them into a living hell. They murder people in the streets right and left, and leave the bodies to rot. They kill whoever they feel like killing. They don't govern. All they do is kill people. The people hate them. I mean, they really, really hate them, the way Filipinos hated the Japanese by 1945. Their standard mode of operation is infinitely worse than the worst of Abu Ghraib -- that is to say, the worst of Abu Ghraib under the US. The worst of Abu Ghraib under Saddam Hussein was the kind of stuff the jihadis would do.
I guess you'd call Saddam a "freedom fighter" too, since he used chemical weapons on civilians. That kind of thing seems to get you all hot and bothered.

it's a good thing everyone is an expert on their own opinions. thank god for the information age when we can justify any argument we want to make regardless of whether or not we've been within 1000 miles of the events.

9/11 was an inside job.
Sorry, no offense, but it's clear as day. Hasn't every major conflict/war in history been started with one of these "unprovoked attacks"?
I wouldn't be surprised if those planes were remote controlled. Supposedly, the pilots could barely fly single-engine propeller planes.

"Who showed up outside a mosque the other day to shoot innocent women in the head? Sorry, not us."
I guess it's okay to raid houses individually and send in your commanding officers to rape the women inside. Maclean's article from a soldier that was part of one of these fireteams.
"Finally, we had to stay in Germany and Japan for a long time but now they've become pretty decent places."
That's ridiculous. You guys weren't even IN the war until one of your 'allies' lied to you (told Japan?) about Pearl Harbour, and you wouldn't have been in the other war if you weren't so stupid as to disregard Germany's u-boat policy.
"So if we leave now the place will be hell. But...root for the terrorists if you want."
You guys are killing and being killed at the same rate (higher?) than under Saddam's rule, except that to change to your rule, it cost a pile of lives. Wouldn't it have been better to just let the UN take care of it? Plus, if you're so worried about dictatorship, how about you go and 'take out' Fidel Castro?
"Oh yeah, and don't forget the freedom fighters that killed 3000+ innocent Americans on September 11th."
Remind me again - were you guys in Iraq (btw, what happened to Afghanistan again?) at the time? No. Is there sustainable proof that it wasn't palnned? No.
