Am i slowly turning into a fan of animals or taxidermy?

I really like the work of Melbourne artist Louise Weaver.

04kangaga.jpg o11hare.jpg

She crochets close-fitting glittery skins of cotton/lambswool, sequins and beading for taxidermists’ forms of Australian animals: a golden hare, green racoon wearing movie star shades, a cuddly squirrel, a rock wallaby, etc.

Weaver's work is at HIGH TIDE new currents in art from Australia and New Zealand, 14th February - 9th April 2006. Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw, Poland.

More about Weaver's work in Sydney Morning Herald, Vceart, discovery media.
