Choreographed umbrellas
|
A video for happy mornings.
Autogene is made of 8 umbrellas in circle which dance to the sound Singin' In the Rain. For the installation/ballet, Peter William Holden used an industrial computer from Siemens (Programmable Logic Controller) to control the switching of Festo pneumatic valves which in turn direct compressed air to pneumatic cylinders within the modified umbrellas thus enabling them to open and close at a rapid pace.
