The Antarctic Snow Cruiser

The Snow Cruiser was designed in 1939 as the ultimate on-ice vehicle (see details).

But once on the Antarctica ice, the Snow Cruiser failed to perform up to expectations. The tires sank deeply into the snow and spun too easily.
