Where Anime and Art Meet: Gundam Exhibition
|
Where did/will/should anime and art meet? This I believe is one of the questions Gundam Exhibition asked when it took place at Suntory Museum in Osaka this summer. Sounds like it was a higly successful exhibition. Now the exhibition takes place again from November 6 till December 25; this time at Mori Museum in Ueno, Tokyo.
One of the outstanding pieces is Crash Seira Masu, which seems to represent a certain psychological status of a person going to fight a war.
There's a new media art installation as well (Kazuhiko Hachiya is involved in this.) More photos from the exhibition in Osaka can be found here and here. If you are a hardcore Gundam fan, this may be an event you don't wanna miss. I don't belong to that category, but I feel like I may be able to enjoy the exhibition as well - the depth and the inclusiveness of each work would help me build my own understanding. UPDATE: Andrew Jones put up a flickr page with ARTIT gundam exhibit interviews. Brilliant! |
