The Museum of Safety Gear for Small Animals, by Toronto-based artist Bill Burns, exploits the ridiculous to spark conversation about serious questions. From safety glasses for protecting the white-footed mouse; to life insurance and annuities for eleven species of fauna on five continents; to a reflective vest for raccoons. Behind the humourous garments and accessories lie ten years of research about animal rescue, relocation and rehabilitation.
