Japanese violin production company Alte Kobo has developed a violin as a speaker of an audio system. The speaker can reproduce sounds, such as the voices of musical instruments and even humans.

When in use, the Violin Player --which can even be played like a violin-- has to be connected to a stereo or other sound source.

A violin produces sounds when vibrations of the strings resonate between its front and back plates through its string-stretching units. The Violin Player converts audio signals into vibrations then transmits them to its string-stretching units to reproduce original sounds.
