Disaster-friendly vending machine

Japanese company Fuji Electric Retail Systems is selling a vending machine that can dispense free drinks when a disaster occurs.

The battery-equipped model functions as an ordinary vending machine. However, by using a special switch the model also works when the power supply is cut off, allowing people to get beverages without inserting any money.
