Kami-robo are paper robot designed to fight. First created by Tomohiro Yasui, they measure 15 to 20 centimeters and have joints at the shoulders, hips, elbows, knees, wrists and ankles, which enable them to move freely and smoothly.

Every kami-robo has a name and its own personality. In the 20-odd years that kami-robo have been fighting, friendships and alliances have been formed and broken.

Not made to be shown to other people, they cannot really be called artwork. And they do not have commercial value. Yet, the kami-robo world is filled with an intensity and pleasure that everyone is familiar with.

The Kami-Robo Expo 2005 will be held from April 1 till April 25 at Parco Museum, in Tokyo.

Don't miss the gallery, it's amazing.
