Ptooie: the packet sniffler

Many (wireless) users are unaware of the unencrypted nature of some public networks and that their traffic can be "seen" by anyone. To raise awareness of the problem, Dedi Hubbard and Joseph Versoza have been working on ptooie, a flower that sniffs out unencrypted traffic on a (wireless) network. When it encounters passwords sent out in the clear, ptooie's health decreases.

Ptooie will be presented at the ITP Winter Show of the Tisch School of the Arts in New York on Sunday 19 and Monday 20.
