Oribotics

Adding an artistic twist to the Origami-folding robot , the Oribots begin as small, compact units, and then, to the whirring of servo motors, unfold themselves into full bloom. Visitors touching the screen bring life to the dormant flower-like robots, they wind open, sing mechanical songs, and move in the kaleidoscopic light.

Oribotics, created by Matthew Gardiner, is a fusion of origami, LEGO robotics, animated light and sound. The robots usesì a computer system to control motors, light and sound, through a simple user interface.
