Flood light, by Michael Cross and Julie Mathias from Wok Media, questions a key fundamental: our fear to mix water and electricity. "It only looks dangerous," Cross points out. "Most of the things they teach you about electricity are just lies. You can either be really ignorant and get away with it, or you can get a bit more knowledge and still get away with it. It's only if you're in the middle that it doesn't work."

The duo also created the Blow fan that features an on/off switch mini-fan attached to the front of the main fan. The main fan is activated by blowing on the smaller version; to turn it off, the user does something that looks quite risky too: he sticks a finger into the blades of the mini-fan.

Dear Dutch By Design,

I am writtng to you as I am an Applied and Decorative Arts Student at Kent Institue of Art and Design. I realise members within the industry are required to understand their design context for the development of design practices and be able to respond appropriately with promotion strategies. Area's I believe Dutch by Design determines.
I am currently required to select a design outlet and design a piece of work following the themes of the outlet or exhibitions coming up within the next few months either as a once piece or batch produced work. I would be most grateful if you could send me any information on your company and if you would allow me to send you some fo my design idea's and give me fed back with positive critism's. I look forward from hearing from you and await your reply.
Kind Regards
Laurie Dickason
