Japanese company CITIZEN has developed a "wearable security tool" called CertifGate, which looks somewhat similar to the Active Badge system.

A USB Base Unit and a name tag wirelessly communicate with each other. For example, an office worker wearing the name tag can lock her computer automatically when she leaves her/his desk. Similarly unlocking is done automatically. The name tag may also communicate with her/his colleagues base stations so that the system can compute the wearer's current location.

Citizen plans to release CertifGate for the Japanese market next march, a month before Japanese Personal Information Protection Act will be enforced in april.

Via RFID in Japan.
