Last year, Yugo Nakamura created an online interactive environmental project called ecotonoha (a combination of "ecology" and "kotonoha," which means 'word' in ancient Japanese.)

By visiting the NEC website, people can create an ecotonoha leaf by clicking on the tree and writing a message, which enables the collaborative growth of virtual trees.

As the virtual tree grows, NEC will plant real trees on Kangaroo Island in Australia, with the purpose of reducing the amount of CO2 in the environment. Over 600 trees have been planted so far.
