Project to TAG Times Square

TAG Scripting Presence is a street activity project by Amy Hung for the site of Times Square, NYC. Based on SMS, it would allow people to leave a piece of themselves in the urban space. Citizens will participate with one another as they tag designated areas or “nodes” by displaying their inscription. Players challenge opponents in a TXT BATTLE in which the emerging victor will prevail with the tag.

The idea is to enhance both the individual’s experience and the public space by initiating a sense of belonging and, thus, ownership to the city.
