AT&T Wireless has declared July to be the "Wireless etiquette month". In an informal survey the operator revealed that although 95% of Americans believe to use their mobile phones in a courteous manner, 42% rarely or never do.

As part of its etiquette campaign, AT&T Wireless has listed a series of recommendations to mobile phone users
