Comedian and writer Stephen Fry launched today "Handheld History" a service allowing mobile phone users to access information about individuals celebrated on London's Blue Plaques .

Depending on how much time the passer-by have, he can enjoy the service by:

- Calling to listen to a 5 minute biography and story told by Stephen Fry or Joanna Lumley.
- Texting to get a just quick details via SMS.
- Pointing the phone WAP browser at wap.handheldhistory.com.
