Your own car could one day send an SMS to save your life

The European Commission will impose on car manufacturer to implement in car the E-merge system that automatically sends an SMS to local emergency services in case of a car crash.

The device (made of a cellphone circuit, a GPS, and a microphone and loudspeaker) is fixed under the dashboard and is activated by the same sensor as the airbag.
