Camera phones as an "extension of urban eye"

Tens of millions of pictures were taken and sent via emails by mobile phones in the United States in 2003, the year camera-equipped phones were introduced to the broad public.

Now these pictures will find a space in a Los Angeles art gallery. The exhibition called SENT will explore the camera phone's potential as a artistic tool in two galleries:
- an online one where amateur photographers and phonecam users will share their pictures with the whole world,
- at SixSpace, in an exhibition where professional photographers, artists, and public figures will work on the creative possibilities offered by camera phones.
