A bat house

Each year, there are new bird houses at design shows. But bats? Did anyone ever think of them? Alex Metcalf does.

There are at least 6 different types of bats living in London, and their home is threatened as new loft spaces are taking away their homes. The Bat House would not only provide a home for the bats but also promote further the cause of their conservation through its distinctive aesthetic.

Alex also made a Bird Light which tries to bring a sense of a bird's character and present it to the living environment.

Besides, the designer was inviting people in the park to wear headphones hanging from the branches of a tree and listen the a recording of the sound the water makes from being pulled up from the roots to the leaves.
