Choco-hepatitis C
|
Viral Confections are chocolates shaped into the molecular structure of the hepatitis C virus. A model of the virus was printed as a rapid prototype from a 3D algorithmic illustration of the virus from the Protein Data Bank. The chocolates were then cast into the molecular form. Part of the Sentimental Objects in Attempts to Befriend a Virus series, the truffles do not carry hepatitis C. Desire to eat them is mixed with a repulsion for the virus, a dialectic which has proved to be an exciting and approachable way to ignite discussion and create awareness about an extremely prevalent and underrepresented disease. Taste them at the dorkbot-nyc meeting which takes place today, April 4th at Location One in SoHo. By Caitlin Berrigan. |

Arrrh - New Yorkers get all the fun...
Fortunately, this does not infringe on my patent for Hepatitis C that tastes like chocolate. Though now that I think about it, yours will probably sell better.
These are amazing, my whole lab wants some.
this is brilliant way to fuse science and art.
Sorry, I disagree. I don't think a person with Hepatitis C who is fighting for their life would see the "art" in this. Poor taste in my book.
Shame these aren't available for purchase.
I REALLY want the jar those things are in. That is a beautiful take on the biohazard symbol which is, of course, delightfully disturbing.
wow , a cookie jar for every illness, now against your pitty
