A simple and extremely sad visualization of the proportionality of deaths in the conflict between Isreal & Lebanon. The page is updated using the numbers taken from BBC's coverage on the conflict.

More sadness: Graphic on The Independent cover depicting which countries supported the immediate ceasefire in the Middle East and which opposed.

it's very simple but since one can't charge up injustice and cruelty against each other it makes it simplistic as well, don't you think? it's always easy to point at disproportionate figures like that and especially the arts are pretty prone to do that.

I think each life lost is worth mentioning. Whether its a Isreali army officer, a Hezbollah fighter or a 5 year old girl from both sides of the fence.

I totally agree with the importance of each life. I'm generally a pacifist -- all of this war is quite troubling.

I also feel its politically important to represent different issues in a similar fashion -- and I feel Israel often gets treated unfairly.

So, a response.
