«Soulmates» : New Disposable Shoes

A group of business women students from Newcastle University have come up with the ultimate sensible shoe - called Soulmate - that can be purchased at the bar for £2 ($3.75), for the walk home after a night of dancing on high heels.

They also come with a bag in which women can carry the shoes they have just removed.

"The disposable shoes are made from two pieces of synthetic foam.

One of the students, Chris Scherd said: "At the moment we have a prototype of two strips of foam welded together.

"They will get more stylish and we are trying to develop the sole to make it more durable because if people are going to be walking home on the streets they want it to be more robust and waterproof."
