Researchers at Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg (France) have discovered that chicken proteins can be used to store data.

The proteins, when bombarded by a laser beam and posed on plastic or glass support, become an holographic memory.

The technology would allow to store the equivalent of 27 DVD on a CD-size thin support.

Japanese Electronic company Pioneer has already bought the patent.
